Spurs fans are probably still yet to get over their first win in their new stadium as it was quite the spectacle, despite Mauricio Pochettino’s side struggling to reach their full potential on the field.
The North London club won’t be too fussed about their disappointing performance as they still managed to secure a vital three points, which topped off a brilliant night that fans will never forget.
However, the one thing that Daniel Levy needs to do to make life at the new stadium even more enjoyable is to bring in reinforcements. And, it appears as if Spurs are already starting to look at potential summer additions, as according to Bleacher Report, Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Ryan Sessegnon.
Sessegnon’s current club Fulham recently suffered relegation to the Championship, but he belongs in the Premier League so he may not be out of the top-flight for too long.
With that being said, here are the potential consequences of Spurs signing him…
MAURICIO POCHETTINO LANDS NEXT GARETH BALE
Of course, Spurs fans would love nothing more than to see Mauricio Pochettino unearth Spurs’ next Gareth Bale after witnessing his brilliance in North London prior to his move to Real Madrid.
Sessegnon may just be the next Bale as he operates at left-back but has also been used higher up the field and he’s shown he can score goals and provide assists. He’s produced two goals and six assists this season and he managed to score 16 and provided eight assists last season, so it’s clear to see he has the attacking ability.
And, former Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic even labelled Sessegnon as a mix of Bale and Marcelo (as per Evening Standard), so the Englishman could develop into Spurs’ next star if he makes the move.
BEN DAVIES FEARFUL
Ben Davies hasn’t had it all his own way in recent times in the Premier League as Danny Rose has come on leaps and bounds. The Welshman spent time out on the sidelines due to injury towards the start of this year which gave Rose the chance to impress in the side.
Indeed, the 25-year-old now needs to fight for his position after Rose’s rise in form and the potential arrival of Ryan Sessegnon could complicate things.
Therefore, the Wales international could fear for his position if Sessegnon joins.
