West Ham United have nothing to play for from here on in until the end of the current campaign as their chances of securing a European spot are long gone. Although, fans will be delighted with how their side performed earlier on today as they put in a quality performance in north London.
The Hammers splashed the cash back in the summer transfer window and it’s worked to some extent, but a number of areas still require improvement at the end of the current campaign.
Interestingly, it appears as if the London club are eyeing a shock move, as according to The Mirror, West Ham United are interested in signing Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos.
Ceballos is a very talented midfielder who could work wonders at the London Stadium, so here are the potential consequences of West Ham United signing him this summer…
HUSILLOS SECURES OBIANG REPLACEMENT
Mario Husillos reportedly (as per The Mirror) feels as if Ceballos would fit in well at the London Stadium.
It’s safe to say that fans would love to see Husillos work his magic to bring a number of impressive players to the club in the summer transfer window, starting with the Real Madrid man.
West Ham are expected to lose Pedro Obiang this summer, so bringing Ceballos to the club makes perfect sense as he operates in the same position and would be a major upgrade on the Spaniard.
MARK NOBLE DITCHED
Mark Noble’s age has been apparent in some of his performances in the current campaign as he just hasn’t been able to have much of an impact, so signing a central midfielder in the summer will be key.
Ceballos is everything you could want in a central midfielder as he tracks back and keeps things tight, as well as getting forward to create and produce goals in the final third.
Sadly, the Englishman could end up being ditched if Ceballos joins as he’s on another level and Declan Rice has been immovable in the Hammers’ midfield this season.
West Ham United fans, surely Dani Ceballos would be a great signing? Join the discussion by commenting down below!
