Wolverhampton Wanderers need to bounce back immediately if they are to stand any chance of securing a European spot, as the likes of Leicester City, Watford and Everton are all looking to finish in seventh position in the current campaign.
The Midlands club have had a season to remember regardless of where they finish in what is their first season back in the Premier League, but a European spot would top things off nicely.
It appears as if Wolves have the opportunity to sign another one of Jorge Mendes’ clients this summer, as according to Calciomercato, AC Milan have approached Wolves to offer Andre Silva.
Sadly, the forward is currently suffering from an injury but he’s been rather promising at times this season, so here are the potential consequences of Wolves signing him this summer…
FOSUN LAND RAUL JIMENEZ PARTNER
Fosun have splashed the cash on a number of players since taking over at Wolves, and it looks as if they’ll have to empty their pockets once again if they want to sign Silva, as he’s valued at £31.5 million (by Transfermarkt).
Raul Jimenez has operated at the pinnacle of the attack alongside Diogo Jota this season and it’s safe to say that the pair have worked wonders. But, Wolves would benefit much more from having Andre Silva up top alongside the Mexican as he’s strong, can also hold up the ball and offers much more in the opposition’s box.
Diogo Jota has been one of the best players at the club this season so Nuno Espirito Santo should look to deploy him in behind the strike pairing of Jimenez and Silva.
What a dangerous attack that would be.
IVAN CAVALEIRO DITCHED
It’s safe to say that Ivan Cavaleiro hasn’t exactly made a name for himself in the Premier League as he’s managed to score just three goals in 21 top-flight appearances.
Wolves would be much better off with an out-and-out attacking option like Andre Silva at the pinnacle of the attack as he knows how to find the back of the net if he’s presented with the right chances.
With Jimenez, Jota and Silva ahead of him in the pecking order, it would come as no surprise if Wolves ditched him.
