Arsenal fans on Twitter are getting excited over the potential signing of Yaya Toure. The Ivorian international is a free agent having left Manchester City at the end of last season and his agent, Dimitry Seluk took to Twitter to confirm that he had completed a medical in London ahead of a move. However, according to The Mirror, he could be moving back to Olympiacos.

The Gunners were one of the favourites to sign the 35-year-old after Seluk ruled out a move to both Crystal Palace and West Ham, however, it now seems like he will be moving back to Greece with Olympiacos, where he won the double back in 2005. The Gunners won’t want to miss out on the Ivorian but it looks like he’ll be moving away from London, despite completing his medical in the English capital.
With the veteran midfielder’s wage demands it was thought that only Tottenham, Chelsea or Arsenal would have been able to afford the midfielder and with the Lilywhites making a big deal out of not signing any players it had Arsenal fans daring to dream. Unai Emery could do with the quality in midfield and with some of the new faces they’ve already got, adding some goal scoring dynamism in the form of Yaya Toure would be a great addition. Unfortunately, it seems like it’s not meant to be.

Wouldn’t be a bad signing, we need leaders and winners in that dressing room and he’s one of them

Imagine saying no when you have El Neny in your squad

I would rather take a forty years old Yaya toure than Xhaka at current form

The Gunners seem very keen on signing Toure and would like to have him to add some quality to their midfield.
