West Ham fans have been drowning their sorrows in the Transfer Tavern this week following their side’s defeat to Tottenham last time out.
The East London outfit were unbeaten in three games in all competitions prior to the visit of Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but a brace from Harry Kane as well as Christian Eriksen’s second of the season was enough to seal a 3-2 win for the North London club.
And that result saw Slaven Bilic’s men slip into the bottom three in the Premier League to further increase the pressure on the Croat, and he is unlikely to be overly chuffed with a recent report from Tuttosport (via talkSPORT) either, which outlines some intriguing information regarding Anderlecht’s Lukasz Teodorczyk.
The 26-year-old only moved to the Belgian giants back in March of this year following a decent loan spell there earlier in the campaign, a campaign which saw him finish with 22 goals in 38 league games, and 30 in all competitions to help them win the domestic title, and indeed reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
And the Poland international’s impressive form in front of goal reportedly attracted the interest of Bilic’s West Ham, as well as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, over the summer, yet it appears that another side have joined the race for the forward, namely Serie A outfit Torino.
And this is sure to come as a blow to the Hammers, who look set to face a serious battle come January to land the striking sensation.
Landlord’s verdict: Lukasz Teodorczyk was in sensational form for Anderlecht last season, so it was no surprise to see the Belgian giants secure a permanent deal for him back in March.
It was also no surprise to see reported interest in the Poland international over the summer, and that interest clearly remains with Torino set to rival Liverpool and West Ham for the 26-year-old’s signature.
And the Serie A side’s addition to the race is likely to hinder the Hammers’ chances of landing Teodorczyk, which may leave manager Slaven Bilic with no choice but to look at other options when the window reopens in the New Year.
