Newcastle United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern have finally got their wish this summer as the club have finally managed to splash the cash on some permanent signings.
St. James’ Park was not a happy place to be during the second half of the 2013/14 season with Alan Pardew banned for that infamous head butt, talisman Yohan Cabaye sold to Paris Saint-Germain and Mike Ashley refusing to spend money on any permanent signings – but at least Joe Kinnear left!
The Toon Army will be hoping the 2014/15 campaign is a different story with a host of new recruits – many of whom remain relatively unknown in England.
It could go one of two ways – a group of players who can provide that exciting shock factor – or those who take too long to settle.
Alan Pardew is certainly hoping the latter won’t be the case with the Magpies boss one of those heading into the season under real pressure, having lost the backing of a number of the supporters following the dismal second half of last season.
And it certainly won’t be an easy start, with reigning champions Manchester City the first to visit St. James’ Park.
Here, we take a look at the predicted Newcastle starting eleven for that clash on Sunday.
