‘Prefer this guy’ – Man City fans identify £90m-rated alternative to Griezmann on Twitter

The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern watched on with admiration on Wednesday evening as Antoine Griezmann delivered the goods on the big stage by scoring a brace in the Europa League final.

Manchester City are always on the look out for players who could potentially improve their squad, and in Antoine Griezmann they have found a player who would almost certainly thrive alongside a plethora of superstars at the Etihad Stadium.

The French international continued to enhance his reputation and his extortionate stock with a performance to remember in the Europa League final on what will presumably represent his final appearance for Atletico Madrid after 4 years in the Spanish capital.

Griezmann is widely believed to be on his way to Barcelona this summer, but City might have something to say about that.

However, it appears that the supporters are not overly convinced by Griezmann and would rather see another of Europe’s fine attacking talents arrive at the club this summer, namely Paulo Dybala of Juventus (valued at £90 million by Transfermarkt).

In the aftermath of the Europa League final, the City supporters took to Twitter to discuss whether Griezmann would be a wise player to target this summer, and perhaps to the surprise of some, it seems they would rather their club signed Dybala.

Considering Dybala is younger than Griezmann at the age of 24 and arguably a more realistic target given Barcelona’s widely-documented interest in Atletico’s crown jewel, it’s easy to sympathise with the views of the supporters.

Either way, it’s unlikely the Citizens faithful would be complaining too much if the club announced the signing of Griezmann in the near future.

Here’s what the City fans have had to say about Dybala and Griezmann on Twitter…
