Just yesterday here in the Football Transfer Tavern we were talking about the possibility of Crystal Palace getting Nathaniel Chalobah on loan for the season and now it seems that they are also eyeing a move for an Arsenal misfit to boot – well so say the Metro.
Marouane Chamakh is somewhat of a comedy figure at the Emirates now and no one really wants him there for the up coming season. After spending time on loan at West Ham last term – and not a very successful spell either – now it seems that another loan move for the forward could be on the cards. Just weeks after he was linked with a move to La Liga side Levante, now it seems that staying in the Premier League could be on the cards.
Ian Holloway is well aware that to stay up next season he will need firepower and is conscious of the fact that former star man Wilfried Zaha is now playing his trade at Manchester United – leaving the side without a top class player. Hence attempts to bring in Chelsea youngster Chalobah and also the Arsenal forward.
Originally, Holloway had intended to bring Carlton Cole to the club, yet he has is now ready to turn to plan B – which is bringing the Arsenal outcast to the club, at least for the first half of the season.
