After their simply sensational run in the Capital One Cup, culminating in the lifting of the trophy this weekend, Swansea City are now set to fend off interest from a host of clubs for skipper Ashley Williams according to Metro.
The centre back has impressed to a level many thought would not be possible and has risen up through the leagues going from playing part-time football to Premier League level, capped perfectly by lifting the League Cup tophy yesterday evening.
The skipper has his feet firmly on the ground and claims he has done jobs ranging from waiting tables to car washing when earning nominal amounts from the game, yet this is not set to be a problem ever again.
Not only are Liverpool after the player but Spurs and Arsenal also have an eye on the 28-year-old Wales international captain. Of course Michael Laudrup is wanted by Real Madrid according to a recent report in The Guardian and Michu is likely to be the subject of summer of interest to boot.
Clearly the Swans will have their work cut out in order to keep their star side together and punters in the tavern will be watching summer developments with a keen eye.
Can Swansea keep hold of Williams or will he move to one of the Premier League’s bigger fish? Rate this rumour below.
