Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to a new era in their club, led by Italian boss Antonio Conte, and their attention has been caught by comments from a Premier League compatriot.
Metro quotes Leicester City’s Premier League winning manager Claudio Ranieri, who managed Chelsea a decade ago, as predicting Antonio Conte will ‘change everything’ during his Stamford Bridge revolution.
Conte will officially take charge of Italy’s campaign at the European Championships ends and he’s expected to make wholesale changes to the underperforming Chelsea squad, who ended the season tenth and 16 points off the Champions League spots.
With so much work to take place at Stamford Bridge, many may be concerned that Conte has too much to deal with but Ranieri believes Conte will do good things for the Blues.
‘He is a tough man, it is hard for him to change because he will make a little revolution there. I am waiting for it, I await the revolution when he arrives. He changes everything.’
‘He is very concentrated in his job, the little things. He wants to care for everything, nutrition, everything.’
Chelsea have to compete with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City next season, as well as rejuvenated sides like Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham, which won’t be an easy challenge.
