Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are preparing for a big turn around in the summer after the Daily Mail revealed they are targeting England’s midfield pair Jack Wilshere and Jordan Henderson as their futures are in doubt at Arsenal and Liverpool respectively.
Manchester City believe they need more English players in their line up, with people thinking the high number of foreigners has led to their lack of fight this season.
They now have Henderson and Wilshere at the top of their big shopping list as they look to build for the future at the Etihad.
A few years ago you would never have thought that City would stand a chance of signing the pair but now they both seem like realistic signings.
Because Henderson, 24, has really come into his own this season and has recently rejected a new deal at Anfield which makes people think he is eyeing a move to challenge for the league title.
Whilst Wilshere’s career at the Emirates has become stale, punters here in the tavern think he needs a fresh start and with the recent transfer history between the two clubs, there is a good chance a move could materialise.
