The youngster who turned 17 last month, has attracted a wide amount of interest after some key performances in the Bilbao youth team. Galaretta was also given his debut first team opportunity by coach Joaquin Caparros in a recent friendly against Spanish third division side Lemona.
Scouts from both Liverpool and Chelsea have been to Spain in recent months to look at the youngster, and the Bilbao teenager has seemingly impressed enough that both parties are looking to bring Galarreta to England, but will face a difficult challenge in beating Barcelona to the signature, with many Spanish players seemingly favouring a move to the Nou Camp.
However, both Chelsea and Liverpool are known for their great youth academies, and with Spanish players such as Fernando Torres Xabi Alonso, Luis Garcia and Alvaro Arbeloa gracing the Anfield pitch in recent years, Galarreta could be interested in joining a Premier League club with such a large Spanish history.
While the Premier League clubs are looking to add some exciting Spanish youth to its midfield with a bid for the Althletico Bilbao teenager, both Chelsea and Liverpool are set to further battle it out for another exciting youngster, Anderlecht’s exciting striker Romelu Lukaku.
The 17 year old has been dubbed as the next Didier Drogba and was thought to be close to a move to Stamford Bridge after placing a picture on his facebook of the teenager sat in their dugout.
However, as in the case of the Galarreta deal, it would seem that the youngster would favour a move to Spain, stating that he would like to join Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.
