Premier League duo keen on Barcelona defender

BartraBoth Spurs and Manchester United have been handed a massive transfer boost today after reports emerged in The Sun, that suggest Barcelona have told highly-rated defender Marc Bartra, that he can leave the club during the summer.

This news has seen supporters of both clubs rush to the bar here in the Transfer Tavern to get in a celebratory drink in, given that their club are pursuing such a top player.

The Barca defender is said to prefer a switch to the Premier League, given his desire to play regular first-team football although Fiorentina and Porto are also said to be keen.

Although the 25-year-old looks set to depart the Nou Camp in the summer, any transfer would see the Catalan giants put a buy-back clause into his contract, which may put some clubs off a deal.

One Spurs fan is sat chatting with the landlord here in the Tavern and he thinks that Bartra would be a real coup for the club and hopes the club can pull off a deal.

Meanwhile a Manchester United supporter is playing pool in the Tavern and he also believes the central defender would be an attractive signing for the club and also hopes the club can press ahead with a deal.

United and Spurs fans, would you welcome Barta to your club? What other talents would you like your club to sign?
