It has not been an ideal day for Spurs fans today in the Football Transfer Tavern and that looks set to continue as the Metro claim that they will have to stump up £22 million for target Leandro Damiao.
The club have been tracking the Internacional player for some time now and Andre Villas Boas is thought to be a big fan of the creative star. Now it seems that big money will have to change hands should Spurs hope to bring the player to White Hart Lane this summer. Not only will Spurs have to pay big money for the forward, they will also have to fight of competition from fellow Premier League side Southampton who are also interested in bringing Damiao to England.
Internacional director Mediros claimed ‘The price is £22million,’
‘If one of the clubs wants to buy Damiao, this is the price they will have to pay.’
Spurs are thought to have agreed a fee with Valencia for forward Roberto Soldado and that is not all – Daniel Levy is certainly being kept busy this summer with the Gareth Bale saga and now the player is thought to have become infuriated with the North London club and their stance over the transfer, feeling betrayed.
