Punters in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking up at the claim from the Metro who note that former target of both Chelsea and Spurs Willian has issued a come and get me plea to the clubs in order to try and force through a transfer.
The player made a big money move from Shakhtar to mega rich Russian side Anzhi and now considers the whole thing to be somewhat of a mistake, noting that he is no longer in the spotlight and it would be a dream to make a move to England – finally.
Willian has been a long term target of Andre Villas Boas and the manager will certainly have money to spend should the sale of Gareth Bale go through yet is not the only manager interested – Chelsea and Jose Mourinho are also monitoring the player who noted that
‘I tried to leave Shakhtar for over a year, but couldn’t do it,’
‘I had offers from big English clubs and from other places, but Shakhtar never accepted them.
‘I wanted very badly to go to England, but I have no regrets and couldn’tA wait any longer to leave Shakhtar. They use to tell me one thing and then act otherwise.
‘Anzhi were the only ones who agreed to play for my release clause. I have enormous affection and respect for this club, but everybody knows that my dreams and desires haven’t changed.
‘I have the goal of playing for a big club and being in the spotlight to rejoin the Brazil national team but for now I’m an Anzhi player, and I intend to keep playing here with a calm mind.’
