Premier League manager is dumped out of the race for Southampton job

howeySouthampton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern felt very let down after Ronald Koeman finally made his move to Everton and they are now unsure who will replace him.

According to The Telegraph, Eddie Howe who was strongly linked to the hotseat at St Mary’s has now dropped out of the running from the job.

And it’s being reported that Saints have taken him off the shortlist rather than Howe or Bournemouth taking him out of the running.

With the Cherries boss now out of the running, former Lille and Roma manager Rudi Garcia is being tipped as the favourite to become Koeman’s successor.

Southampton’s first team are due back on the South Coast on June 28 and the club are hoping to have their new manager through the door before that date.
