Premier League side readying bid to land experienced Chelsea man

BegovicCFCEverton fans in the Transfer Tavern have been a quiet bunch so far this season, with little to shout about, but their suddenly making themselves heard over in the corner following reports of an exciting move.

The Sun states Everton have turned their attention to Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic as they look for a replacement for ageing United States international Tim Howard.

Howard, who has given years of services to the Merseyside outfit, is expected to leave this summer to join MLS outfit Colorado Rapids and Everton are keen to land an experienced goalkeeper to fit into their first-team.

With Asmir Begovic reported to be unhappy with his lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge, Everton are readying a move worth around £8m in an attempt to bring the 28-year-old Bosnian international to Goodison Park.

Begovic only moved to Chelsea from Stoke City last summer, as a replacement for Arsenal bound Petr Cech, but he’s featured just once since Guus Hiddink took temporary charge of the Blues back in December.

Our landlord feels Begovic is far too good a goalkeeper to spend his time sitting on the bench on a weekly basis, so he believes this move would be excellent for all parties.

Everton fans, would Begovic be a good replacement for Howard? Let us know in the comments below!
