Premier League sides target Cahill loan move

A former favourite among punters in the Football Transfer Tavern, Tim Cahill might be heading back to the Premier League on loan in January according to a report by the Mail Online.

The New York Red Bulls star is interesting a number of Premier League clubs after recently declaring that he was keen to come back to England on short-term deal now that the MLS season has ended.

The Australian international featured 14 times for the New York side, scoring once as they finished third in the Eastern Conference of the MLS.

Cahill is still highly regarded at Goodison Park after spending eight years at the club and it was thought he would return for David Moyes’ side in Janaury, However it is now understood that Newcastle, Tottenham, Sunderland and QPR are also all interested in signing the 33-year-old.

The precedent has been set with short-term moves from the MLS to the Premier League after Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane and Thierry Henry all arrived last season and Cahill may be the next to follow suit.
