Premier League striker reveals he wasted his time at Liverpool

borini8Reports in the Mirror have got Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern looking up as Fabio Borini claims he wasted a lot of time staying at the club.

The now Sunderland striker rejected a move to Wearside last summer, after a fee had been agreed with Liverpool, in order to try and salvage his career at at the club.

He hoped with Luis Suarez leaving the club he could help to fill the void his departure created but after a year where he made only 18 appearances, scoring one goal, he finally left the club this summer.

He claims he was frozen out at the club and at times forced to train on his own, which he admits was hard to deal with and significantly damaged his morale.

He is now hoping his move to the Stadium of Light will get his career back on track. Borini had a very successful loan spell at the club during the 2013-14 season and Sunderland fans bought a pint in celebration here in the Tavern when they saw he was on his way back. He played 40 games and scored 10 goals to help the club easily avoid relegation.

The Sunderland striker is also hoping that his move to Sunderland will reignite his push for to make to Italian national team for the European Championships in France next summer.
