Premier League striker rules-out January move to Arsenal

deeney7Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are quite relieved to hear that a surprising target of there’s has ruled-out moving to the Emirates Stadium, with many stating he wasn’t good enough anyway.

TalkSport quotes Watford striker Troy Deeney as ruling out an exit from the Hornets this month, although he admitted he is flattered by reported interest from the Gunners.

“We have still got a project to complete. The pleasing thing from my point of view and from Iggy’s (Odion Ighalo) is people want us. That shows we have been doing something right for the past five, six months.”

“But we have got a project to complete and the manager has said whatever happens in the summer, will happen in the summer.”

“It is very flattering. My son is an Arsenal fan so he read it in the paper the other day and I don’t think he is happy I’m staying at Watford. He doesn’t understand that it is not FIFA and you can’t change within the same day!”

Punters in the bar were staggered when Deeney’s name was linked with Arsenal and believe he is far from the sort of striker that they need, stating he wouldn’t dislodge Olivier Giroud or Theo Walcott as first-choice striker.
