Fiorentina are closing in on Sporting Lisbon’s Miguel Veloso according to La Repubblica. Having sold Felipe Melo to Juventus in the summer the club are wishing to add depth to their midfield despite acquiring Cristiano Zanetti.
Veloso had been linked with Man Utd, Arsenal, Everton and more recently a swap deal with Tottenham involving Roman Pavlyuchenko but having impressed against Fiorentina in the Champions League preliminary stages, Fiorentina director Pantaleo Corvino is working diligently on securing the player’s services.
The 23 year old Portugal international is thought to be valued at €10 m by Sporting.
