Transfer deadline day is upon us and our landlord at The Transfer Tavern is keeping on top of all the latest transfer news.
One of the big stories today concerns West Brom’s Saido Berahino, with a saga started back in the summer.
Now, we have three sets of supporters who are eagerly waiting on news for the Talented West Brom forward, as Spurs, Newcastle and Stoke are all in the mix for the 22-year-old Baggies striker.
The latest news coming out of The Hawthorns is that Newcastle have lodged a £21m bid for the England U21 star, though there’s been no confirmation of rejection or indeed the bid being accepted.
The Baggies are not thought to be willing to sell such a dangerous player who scored 14 goals for them last season with them being only seven points above the relegation zone, so selling to club like Newcastle is considered too big a risk.
Newcastle Owner Mike Ashley is expected to table another bid in the region of £25million to test that resolve.
Tottenham are not thought to be considering going beyond the £22million offer they made in the summer but have turned their attentions to his signature again, whilst Stoke City have told West Brom to keep them updated on developments.
The saga rolls on, with Berahino desperate for a move before the window slams shut at 11pm.
