German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is constantly being linked with a move to the Premiership, and former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehman has declared he knows “three teams who would like to have him”.
“In England there are definitely two big clubs who are constantly watching [Neuer]” Lehman told Sky, also saying that he had heard of interest from Manchester United.
Well, for a potential move to the Premier League for a German goalkeeper, Lehmann could certainly claim to know what he’s talking about, however Neuer remains adamant that he has yet to have any contact with any other club.
Meanwhile the player’s manager at Schalke 04, Felix Magath, remains confident of entering contract negotiations with Neuer in the near future, to extend his current contract which will expire in 2012.
So, with United not included in the two clubs constantly watching Neuer, and Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all with top class keepers… just who is the ex-Arsenal man talking about, exactly?
