Players on the continent who are sure to have scouts scribbling in to their notebooks at present.
After orchestrating the demise of Manchester United in the Europa League, Martinez has already started to attract attention from Sir Alex Ferguson. The Spaniard has consistently impressed for Bilbao this season, playing in a variety of roles including centre back and midfield.
Having showcased his talents so effectively for his nation at last summers u21 championships, the 21 year old has continued his fine form in La Liga and Europe, and would fit perfectly into a United midfield short of class. Typifies a Spanish generation in his technique and poise on the ball, whilst also providing steel and a combative nature perfect for English football.
Martinez’s team mate Llorente has endured a meteoric rise over the past year, scoring 28 goals for Bilbao in all competitions this term. His prowess was there for all to see against United as he helped fire the goals to sink the English champions elect in the Europa League knock out stages.
The 27 year old has been linked with a host of English sides over the past few months, with Spurs and City thought to be specially keen, and it’s thought the Bilbao number 9 will look to seek a move in the summer. One would think Spurs will be specially eager to add him to their ailing ranks, with the futures of forwards Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermaine Defoe far from certain.
This guy has been talked about incessantly over the past year, but it hasn’t effected his form as the Belgian’s torn into Ligue 1 defences for fun this season. At the age of 21, Hazard looks sure to enjoy many more years at the top of his game, and will defiantly be on his way out of France come the summer. The only question is where? Well if you believe the headlines he’s set to disappoint a lot of top clubs, with a choice of Arsenal, Tottenham, City, United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and probably more to face him. You’d like to think Arsene Wenger might find the courage to send shock waves through Europe by capturing the Lille star.
Eriksen has made a huge impact recently, and could be the next big thing to leave Dutch giants Ajax. Since arriving in 2008, the 20 year old has quickly established himself as a key figure within the club. Having been promoted to the first team two years ago, Erikson wasted no time in forcing his way into the starting eleven, making 15 appearances in the second half of the 09/10 season.
The Swedish international has been likened to former Ajax products Wesley Sneijder and Rafael Van Der Vaart, and was described as a good reader of the game by former manager Martin Jol. Would fit well into a Chelsea midfield in much need of creativity, whilst Manchester United are also keeping tabs on his situation.
The PSG defender is an absolute beast. At the age of 22, Sakho has already earned the captains armband in a team of pricey stars and appeared in over a hundred games for the championship hopefuls. Arsenal purportedly tabled a bid for the defender last summer, and could be back in the market for him in an attempt to plug some of the gaps in their leaky backline.
And so they should, with the player currently establishing himself as a regular French international whilst earning a lot of respect on the continent. Would be a big signing for any team in the top flight at this moment.
