Pressure on Woodward as Mourinho deadline grows near

The Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are struggling to keep up with the flurry of big names being linked with Old Trafford each day during this window, however, would like to see an announcement or two over the coming days.

And it seems their not alone, with reports from The Guardian claiming manager Jose Mourinho is becoming frustrated by a lack of movement from those responsible for negotiations.

The Red Devils have already announced Swedish international Victor Lindelof, however, with deals in the pipeline for both Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic the Portuguese is growing impatient.

The Guardian also claim that pressure is mounting on chief executive Ed Woodward, as the former Chelsea manager is keen to get his signings in place before the squad head out on their pre-season tour this coming Sunday.

With all top six challengers seriously bolstering their squads this summer, our landlord knows that getting signings in place as soon as possible will be vital for the likes Mourinho if they are to have the edge over title rivals.
