Prime Man United target opens door to MLS transfer

Cristiano RonaldoManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern dreaming of bringing an iconic legend back to Old Trafford have had their hopes shattered, leading to tears and the bars toilets running out of paper as a result.

The Daily Express quotes Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has being extremely keen on a move to the MLS, which severely reduces the likelihood of the three-time Ballon D’Or winner retuning to the Premier League.

United have been heavily linked with a move for 30-year-old Ronaldo in recent years, with both David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal credited with interest in the Portuguese star, but Ronaldo himself has thrown a spanner in the works during an interview with GQ Magazine.

“What’s happening there (America) is great, it’s fantastic. Maybe in the future will be a good chance for me to play there. You never know, but it’s something interesting. I consider it, of course, because, as I’ve said, soccer there has become better and better, so why not?”

“I think that this is maybe going to be possible. I know that many players move there. I think it’s becoming better and better. It’s growing, I think it’s good. It’s good for me and young players that maybe one day we want to move there. So it’s good that football – ‘soccer’ – grows there.”

Our landlord believes Ronaldo has a few more years left in Europe before sealing a move Stateside but suggests Paris Saint-Germain will land him, should he leave Real Madrid.
