It is looking like it is going to be a very, very long transfer window for Crystal Palace supporters this summer.
Wilfried Zaha seemingly wants out of Selhurst Park (Sky Sports), while speculation over Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future also refuses to go away.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic season in the Premier League, which has now seen his transfer market value rise to £22.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
It is quite clearly going to cost much more than that for Crystal Palace to even contemplate a sale, though, with The Independent reporting that the south London club could demand in excess of £70m from Manchester United for their right-back.
As foolish as the Old Trafford outfit have been with their money in recent years, even they would not pay that sort of money.
Still, the Eagles are set to make a hefty profit on Wan-Bissaka when the time comes to sell the England U21 international, be it this summer, the next one or the one after that.
Wan-Bissaka, of course, cost the club nothing having come through the youth ranks and will be in demand if Crystal Palace ever decide to cash in.
At this moment of time, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is probably the only more complete right-back in the Premier League, while there is arguably not anyone else better defensively.
Whatever way Crystal Palace decide to play it this summer or in the future, the outcome should be a favourable one, given they get to either keep hold of a very talented player or make ridiculous profit from his sale.
