Promising Arsenal youngster returns to London after unsuccessful loan spell

Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still dreaming of Champions League football next season, despite the horrific campaign that has seen the pressure grow on the shoulders of Arsene Wenger!

The Gunners have been out-of-sorts all season and change is edging closer and closer in South London- even our Arsenal-mad barman, a huge Wenger fan, has begun to lose hope in the Frenchman over this season.

But one man that will certainly be joining up with Arsene Wenger over the coming days is young defender Stefan O’Connor, who has been sent home from Dutch outfit MV Maastricht, after an unsuccesful loan spell with the first division club.

The promosing young defender, who had been tipped as a future first-team starter by a number of our regular Arsenal punters here in the pub, played just four appearances, despite showing early promise, according to Goal.

Meanwhile his fellow Arsenal teammate Kelechi Nwakali has enjoyed a fruitful campaign with Maastricht, adding to the annoyance of a poor spell away from the Emirates.

Arsenal fans- could this spell prove to setback O’Connor’s progress in the first-team and do you expect to see him feature this season? Leave your thoughts below!
