Promising transfer prediction for Newcastle United fans from top journalist

Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are hopeful of their side splashing the cash on a centre-forward, as their current attack has caused for some troublesome times on Tyneside this season.

The Magpies seem to have lost their goalscoring touch this season in the Premier League, as their 22 goals scored so far this campaign comes nowhere close to matching the 85 that secured promotion to the top-flight.

Indeed, when the club’s top scorer is a striker with four goals to his name, there’s a desperate need to secure another option with the transfer window at your feet. And, according to a Twitter post from Sky Sports journalist Pete Graves, he is expecting Newcastle United to sign a striker this transfer window with £20 million budget available for this purchase.

Indeed, in a position that’s seen the willingness to consistently provide Joselu with the lone striker role, reward has been a rarity with his lack of potency in-front of goal proving to be a thorn in Newcastle United’s side.

Perhaps this could be their new man, as reports have linked Danish striker Nicolai Jorgensen with a move to the St. James’ Park, after the Magpies had a bid in the region of £14 million rejected as his current club Feyenoord request £20 million for his services.

Still, with £20 million to spend on a striker that’s not officially been determined, it would be sure to break the previous transfer record of £16 million used to bring Michael Owen to St James’ Park, which spells for promising times ahead on Tyneside.

But, with Pete Graves often being reliable for claims and his links so close to the footballing world, the Toon Army will be filled with excitement at the prospect of welcoming a prolific striker to the club, with memories of Alan Shearer still fresh in the mind.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Very promising news for Newcastle, with a striker becoming a must this transfer window for Rafa Benitez. Should they manage to secure the services of a prolific striker, then the transfer window business would go a long way to ensuring Premier League survival.
