It’s been a decent week for Liverpool star Jordan Henderson.
The 24-year-old was appointed the Reds’ vice-captain, he made a winning debut in the Champions League against Ludogorets (just about) and was tipped as the man to succeed Steven Gerrard as Liverpool’s main man – by none other than Gerrard himself!
So of course, someone just had to go and put a downer on things for him.
That person has dug up a photo of Henderson as a kid, wearing the kit of none other than Liverpool’s fiercest rivals… Manchester United.
The former Sunderland man was said to be a fan of the Black Cats as a child; he even proved as much by standing amongst the Mackems supporters at Wembley for last season’s Capital One Cup Final.
So now, Henderson may well look to pass off the same excuse Gerrard provided for being snapped in an Everton kit as a youngster – that a family member made him wear it when he was too young to know better!
