Maurizio Sarri has given opportunities to a couple of players that had previously been frozen our by Antonio Conte, with individuals like David Luiz and Ross Barkley regularly involved under the new boss.

However, he hasn't been able to give everyone a chance, and it's quickly becoming clear who exactly that Italian favours within the current squad.

With his reign now more than a couple of months old, it's quickly getting to a period in which he'll finally understand his squad, and as a result, he may be thinking about which players may not have a long-term future at Chelsea.

Those that have yet to really future are seriously running out of time to make an impact, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek is perhaps the player with the most uncertain path.

Indeed, Maurizio Sarri has previously confirmed as much, noting that he plans to reassess Loftus-Cheek's future before January

Loftus-Cheek's main problem is the sheer quality ahead of him in the Chelsea first team. With Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley favoured at present, he's been unable to start yet for Chelsea, and in big games, he's not even been in the squad as a whole. He didn't have that problem at Crystal Palace, but playing at Chelsea is a different entity entirely.

Add to that several fitness issues, that have kept him out of action in recent weeks, and it quickly seems as though Loftus-Cheek is out of time.

However, the reality is that if he can impress for a month or two, the Chelsea man could yet make an impact. All it will take is a few good games and he may find himself in the team on a weekly basis. Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley have done well, but they've not set the world alight. There is, then, space for someone like Loftus-Cheek.

If he doesn't make an impact in the coming months, however, he could find himself out of the team by process of elimination. He's playing for his Chelsea career ahead of the January transfer window, that's for sure.
