29-year old Male seeks club willing to offer 3 year contract. Enjoys scoring goals, doing forward rolls and cracking jokes. Has cute Irish accent, currently based in Glasgow but will be returning to London this summer. All offers welcome!
Any takers? I’m sure there will be a few this summer. Robbie Keane is regaining his reputation as a top goal-scorer in his loan spell at Celtic. The on-loan Spurs striker has 11 goals in as many games and is even being touted as a contender for SPL player of the year. Although I think that speaks volumes about the standard of the SPL rather than the Irishman’s performances.
None the less, Keane is a striker who still has plenty to offer. If ‘Arry in North London does not want his former captain, then I have no doubt he will find somewhere to roll around making shooting signals after scoring a goal.
Celtic would be a good bet. Given that he has already become a fans favourite, and seems to have settled in well to the ‘pace’, or lack of it, in the SPL, he could favour a move across the border. Other takers may include Wolverhampton Wanderers. Keane would form a good partnership with Kevin Doyle having played together on a number of occasions for Ireland. It would also see him return to one of his former clubs and a former manager in Mick McCarthy.
Of his other former clubs, Leeds and Coventry may be a little too much of a drop down, Inter Milan may be a step too far and Liverpool probably couldn’t afford him even if they wanted to.
If the rumours are to be believed, both Harry and Robbie wish to work together at White Hart Lane next season. The reality of course is that this is always the case and we all know what happens after statements like those. So, like I said, any takers??
