United fans have long dreamt of seeing Cristiano Ronaldo back at Old Trafford but TalkSport says PSG have a strategy in place to beat the Premier League side to the Portuguese ace’s signature.
The French champions have the odds stacked against them, with Ronaldo ‘idolising’ United, but Guillem Balague believes PSG have a financial edge.
“He idolises Manchester United. The fans, the atmosphere and the club, but the club is in a different place now. But why would they spend €125m, plus paying him 20-odd million a year, why would they do that at this stage?”
“PSG are willing to pay that for him, he is happy to move on when he feels the time is right but remember what happened at Manchester United, where he wanted to leave a year before he actually did, so if it’s not this summer it’ll be next summer.”
United fans at the bar understand the claims, as it’s an astronomical price to pay for a player of his age and they are concerned that poor performances could potentially tarnish his reputation. Nevertheless, they’d pay an arm and a leg to see their favourite star back at Old Trafford.
