Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Real Madrid next summer, which will raise speculation of a return to the Premier League after reports suggested Louis Van Gaal is happy to pay over £90m to secure the 30-year-old.
However, Balague believes Paris Saint-Germain are the favourites to secure the Portuguese international; which provides a major blow to United’s ambitions next summer.
Balague, speaking to Sky Sports, claimed Ronaldo’s representatives are eying a new club for the multiple-time Ballon D’Or winner- despite the player stating just days ago that he wanted to retire at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“There is a strategy in place from his people and it looks like this could be the last season of Ronaldo at Real Madrid. It also looks as though Real Madrid aren’t completely unhappy that this is the case.”
“I’ve got the impression these people are feeling PSG will be the best solution. I don’t think he will be at Real Madrid that long.”
Ronaldo, one-goal shy of becoming Real Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer, is a firm favourite for our United regulars after he enjoyed eight successful years in Manchester before completing a record-breaking £80m switch to Spain in 2009.
