The Daily Star states Paris Saint-Germain are ready to make waves with a £40m swoop for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, which could leave United’s own transfer dreams in shatters.
This comes after Varane revealed to Le Parisian that he rejected the approaches of the French giants in the past, as he said:
“PSG were interested in signing me, but we never entered negotiations. The Qatari project at the club was all still a bit unclear to me.”
“I could not see myself join PSG, because I did not know how they would develop. PSG did not suit me at the time and the move to Real Madrid was a logical choice.”
United fans had hoped that they would secure the services of the French international next summer, with the highly-rated defender currently playing second-fiddle to Sergio Ramos and Pepe in the Spanish capital.
