Lestransferts.com reports that Paris St Germain are about to launch a double swoop for two Premiership outcasts. Firstly, PSG will bid for Manchester City and England winger Shawn Wright-Philips before pressing ahead with a bid of 14m Euros for Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner.
The website even goes as far as to say that Manchester City have already received a €2.9m bid from PSG for Wright-Philips. The first thing to be said about this is it seems quite a low estimation of a player who still harbours England ambitions.
Though it is clear that Wright-Philips will play only a bit part for City this season, that is if he features at all.
Aged 29, Wright-Philips knows the clock is ticking on his England career and with the European Championships coming up at the end of the year, must see a year of first-team football as his only possible route into that squad.
Whether he will fancy a move to Paris though is a different story. With rumours that Premiership clubs like Bolton and Blackburn are chasing his signature, he may decided to stay in the limelight of the Premier League.
Bendtner however is a different story. The cocky Dane will see it as his calling to front one of the richest clubs in the world and will believe he is just the man to help them fulfill their lofty ambitions.
After stating earlier this month that he would definitely be leaving the Emirates in this transfer window, it is unlikely that he will get a better offer.
This will however leave Arsenal short up front but equipped with more than enough money to reinvest.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
