Manchester United fans gathering in the Transfer Tavern this evening ahead of a crucial Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven have heard some bad news, as it appears their transfer dreams are over.
The Daily Mirror says Paris Saint-Germain are desperate to secure the services of Cristiano Ronaldo and will offer him a staggering £250k-per-week after tax, as they look to prevent Ronaldo returning to Old Trafford.
Such a deal would blow United out of the water in the quest for Ronaldo’s signature, as the equivalent they would have to offer would be around £500k-a-week.
PSG want Ronaldo to become their mega-star in the French capital to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who’s contract comes to an end next summer, and they have the funds available to secure a huge swoop.
Ronaldo is still rated amongst the best in world football and would be a major coup for the mega-rich French outfit, who are looking to make their mark on the European stage having dominated French football for the past few years.
United fans at the bar are disappointed but admit they accepted a long-time ago that bringing Ronaldo back to Old Trafford was just a pipe dream.
Should Ronaldo join PSG? Can he win the Champions League with them? Let us know in the comments below!
