As quoted by The Mirror, West Brom manager Tony Pulis has said that he aims to build on West Brom’s squad in January as the Baggies look up the table.
Indeed, our fans of the midlands side here in the Transfer Tavern are feeling as optimistic about their club as they have in a long time and are liking the way the squad is looking.
Whilst the Albion have earned themselves a reputation of perhaps being negative at times and pragmatic they have also shown this season they can attack with a handful of very talented footballers particularly going forward.
The likes of Matt Phillips and Salomon Rondon have impressed this season and were in fine form on Monday night as Burnley were brushed aside 4-0 at The Hawthorns.
The club have also seen impressive wins at the likes of Leicester City and at home to West Ham this season ensuring there is a real feel-good factor around the club right now.
Indeed, it is that factor that Pulis wants to harness as he revealed he’s ready to be active once the market opens in January.
“I’m not stood here thinking I’ve cracked it. We need to do things again this window to bring people in who will improve it again”, said the Welshman.
”The most important thing is the team and the club and as I’ve said before we need time to get things right and this is nowhere near what I want.
”I don’t want to bring hundreds of players in and if it’s one or two this window we just have to make sure they’re better than what we’ve got.”
The win took West Brom to ninth in the Premier League table last night, three points off of sixth place Manchester United.
