The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been impressed with the start to life that Tiemoue Bakayoko has made at Stamford Bridge. The Frenchman has played pretty frequently since moving to London, and though he’s not the complete article yet, it certainly won’t be long before he is completely settled at Stamford Bridge.
However, BBC Pundit Garth Crooks has other ideas, and instead of praising the Frenchman for his resolute performance against Bournemouth, he has instead slammed him for his decision to dye his hair blue.
Discussing him in his weekly Team of the Week column, Crooks wrote: “I just wish the Chelsea captain [Cesar Azpilicueta] would tell Tiemoue Bakayoko to come to work suitably turned out”.
He added: “The time and effort it must take the Frenchman to manicure and dye his hair – it was blue this week, and I dread to think what colour it will be next week – could be far better spent either on the training pitch or perfecting his English”.
Crooks clearly isn’t impressed with Bakayoko’s decision to dye his hair blue in honour of his new team, and our landlord isn’t sure that is going to go down well amongst the fans in the Transfer Tavern.
In truth, it’s hard to justify slamming the Frenchman given that he has performed fairly well since moving to Chelsea. He’s still adjusting, of course, but he is definitely improving.
If he had been performing badly then Crooks could have an argument, but at present, he certainly does not.
