According to The Mirror, Queens Park Rangers are ready to pull off a major coup by signing French World Cup maestro Mathieu Valbuena.
Reports suggest that former West Ham United boss Harry Redknapp is in the final stages of negotiations with Marseille to land the diminutive 29-year old.
A deal said to be worth around £7 million is on the table to the French outfit who do not see Valbuena in their plans.
That comes despite the 5 ft 6 in midfielder being good enough to represent France in this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
Dynamo Moscow were also said to be interested in signing him but it is thought that Queens Park Rangers have raced to the head of the queue.
Valbuena is set to earn around £70,000-a-week at Loftus Road in a deal that will be protected should they fail to survive their first season back in the Premier League.
