QPR boss sounds out Dutch international over R’s switch

Redknapp can still prove useful to TottenhamPunters in the Football Transfer Tavern are chuckling about Harry Redknapp and how he likes to discuss other club’s players.

According to talkSPORT, the former West Ham United and Tottenham boss has confirmed that he has ‘admiration’ for Leroy Fer but had revealed he has not made an offer for the Norwich City midfielder.

Redknapp is a big fan of discussing other clubs’ players and he has been up to his old tricks again.

Speaking about the 24-year-old, Redknapp said: “He’s a good player. You don’t play in the Dutch team if you’re not a good player. If he’s available I’m sure plenty of people will be interested, but we haven’t made an offer for him.”

Fer has spent the summer in Brazil representing the Netherlands and even grabbed a goal in their group stage win over Chile.

He made 29 Premier League appearances for the Canaries last summer but was unable to prevent the club from being relegated to the Championship.

Redknapp is currently trying to strengthen his squad ahead of the R’s first season back in the top flight having bounced back at the first attempt.

And it would be no surprise to see Redknapp move for the Dutch international midfielder in the coming weeks.
