Queens Park Rangers fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are informed by the Daily Star that Harry Redknapp is targeting former Tottenham and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov this month.
Redknapp knows the Monaco striker very well from his time at Spurs and he will hope that their previous relationship will play a big part in bringing him to Loftus Road before the transfer deadline on February 2nd.
It is suggested that the big Bulgarian is available for bargain price of just £1 million and despite his salary of £70,000-a-week, this wont be a problem for previous big spenders QPR – especially if they are able to offload Adel Taarabt.
Thirty-three-year-old Berbatov signed for the French giants last January and he has scored six goals in 20 games this season but last season, he was a key player in helping the Stade Louis II-based club qualify for the Champions League.
The French side have disappointed this season and they would be struggling a lot more without Berbatov’s goals.
Redknapp will hope his experience of the Premier League will help them towards survival this term.
