This is after the London Evening Standard wrote that the Hoops boss said it would be an ‘ideal’ move.
QPR are beginning to hit form and are proving to become a tough team to play but their fans are concerned that he is looking to a veteran striker to maintain their status in the Premier League.
The R’s have previously been linked with another ex-Tottenham star in the form of Toronto FC’s Jermain Defoe and may of our resident QPR fans would prefer that move to come to fruition instead of Keane – if they go down the veteran route.
Despite concerns, you cannot question Keane’s pedigree however with the 34-year-old most recently winning the MLS Cup with LA Galaxy after his dramatic extra-time winner against New England Revolution.
Redknapp feels that he is the right character to have around Loftus Road as they look to avoid disappearing through the Premier League trap door at the first attempt.
“The MLS market is one that we’ve got to look at. Robbie’s a good shout – he’s a good pro,” Redknapp said.
“He would be the ideal type to have around for sure because he would give us something. I haven’t spoken to him yet, but he would be an interesting player.”
QPR fans. Do you feel you should be looking at younger targets in January or is a player of Robbie Keane’s stature the type you should be targeting? Let us know your thoughts below.
