When you think of great double acts you think of Richard & Judy, Starsky & Hutch, Ant & Dec…. Neil Warnock & Paddy Kenny. Ok, so maybe their not great, but their definitely a double act, so unsurprisingly The Mirror are suggesting that Paddy Kenny will soon be reunited with Neil Warnock at Leeds with The R’s lining up one time England international Ben Foster as his replacement.
The Birmingham Shot Stopper spent last season on loan at West Brom, signalling the Blues willingness to operate without the former Manchester United man. £4 million is believed to be amount the midlanders are looking for in order to part company with Foster.
While Kenny is a decent Goalkeeper he does always have the potential to provide an audition for the festive season’s array of football blooper DVD’s at any moment. As demonstrated on the final day of last season, a mistake that almost cost the residents of Loftus Road their Premiership status.
Foster on the other hand is a much more reliable and commanding Keeper who may well have found himself as United’s number one had he been willing to play second fiddle to Edwin Van Der Sar for one more season.
The Mirror are also reporting the Swansea may be set to lose another asset as Blackpool prepare a bid for striker Stephen Dobbie. Dobbie impressed for the Seasiders at the back end of last season managing an impressive 6 goals in 10 games helping to fire Ian Holloway’s side into the play-off final.
However despite the vital part the Swansea striker played in almost returning Blackpool to the Premiership the Club are reluctant to meet the Swan’s £1 million valuation of the player, valuing him at a maximum of £750, 000 according to The Mirror.
But if no serious alternative can be found Blackpool may have no choice but to stump up the cash if their serious about returning to the big time.
