Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have received a boost in their hopes of landing an imminent transfer, after one target suggested his future will be decided in the coming weeks.
TalkSport quotes Borussia Monchengladbach’s Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka as insisting his future will be decided before the European Championships kick-off in France next month, with the 23-year-old likely to seal a transfer away from the club.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move, which is likely to make Xhaka the third-most expensive signing in the club’s history behind Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, and the Swiss ace has hinted a final outcome will be decided upon swiftly.
“I’m the wrong person to say something, you might need to check that with Max Eberl [Borussia Monchengladbach’s director of sport]. It is so that the season’s over now and there might be discussions over the next few days. Whatever decision is made, we will make it together.”
“There will definitely be a decision before the Euros.”
Switzerland are in Group A for Euro 2016 alongside host nation France, Romania and Albania, beginning their campaign against the latter on June 11th.
