The Manchester City fans are over by the bar today to celebrate what they see as a positive 0-0 result from their Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid.
However, they may have a transfer to celebrate soon too, as John Stones attended the game, according to Goal.
The Everton defender is one of Pep Guardiola’s biggest transfer targets according to reports, with the 21-year old seen as a player for the future. Chelsea attempted to sign the England international last summer, but ultimately failed, despite making several big money offers.
However, Goal believe that Stones’ attendance at the City game on Tuesday evening could demonstrate a growing interest by both the Blues and Stones to secure a transfer this summer.
Our landlord has pointed out that, despite having an underwhelming season this term, the Everton youngster will most definitely improve under Pep Guardiola next season, should he make the move and has suggested that City could make a cut-price move due to his recent performances.
As for our City supporting contingent here in the Tavern, there appears to be an overarching positive outlook on a potential move for the central defender, although several Blues fans have questioned which of their current defenders will make way.
