Quality striker dismisses speculation of move to Arsenal or Chelsea

Icardi.jpgArsenal and Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been united in their disappointment today, after a quality target ruled-out a move to the Premier League this summer.

TalkSport cite quotes Inter Milan forward and captain Mauro Icardi made to Italian press this week, where he rubbished speculation that stated he will leave the San Siro this summer.

Argentine ace Icardi, 23, has scored a combined 41 goals during the past two seasons in Italy but his form has declined this term, with just 14 strikes combined to last year’s sensational final tally of 27.

The decline in form, and speculation which stated he’d fallen out with boss Roberto Mancini, led to reports stating he’s eyeing a move to England this summer but the Inter skipper rubbished those claims when speaking to Corriere Dello Sera.

“Every year they say that I’m leaving, it’s always the same story. The club has done great work by bringing in top players. At the start we were winning 1-0 but we were up there, then in January we had a decline but the team is growing.”

“So where do you want me to go? I’m happy to be here, to be the captain, the striker and to score.”

Inter currently sit fourth in the Serie A standings, six points behind Roma and the Champions League places, with six games remaining of the season.
