West Ham United may have been handed some hugely positive injury news ahead of this weekend’s encounter with Fulham.
Manuel Pellegrini has seen a number of his players have to spend significant portions of the campaign on the sidelines so far this season, leaving his squad a little threadbare in places at times.
However, according to a report by football.london, it appears The Hammers are about to get a number of them back ahead of the meeting at the London Stadium.
Fabian Balbuena and midfield trio Samir Nasri, Jack Wilshere and Manuel Lanzini are all expected to be back in training on Friday (22nd February 2019).
Balbuena had been a rock at the back for West Ham before he was struck down with a knee injury, whilst Nasri and Wilshere have played roles in the middle of the park this season.
Arguably, fans at the London Stadium will be more excited by the news that Lanzini could finally be back on the pitch earlier than expected, with many believing he would be out for the whole campaign following his ACL injury whilst on international duty with Argentina before last summer’s World Cup.
Whether they will be able to feature against Fulham on Friday night remains to be seen, however, the news that they are on the verge of returning will be hugely positive for Pellegrini and West Ham.
As mentioned, The Hammers have had to deal with a number of injuries over the course of the season and have been left threadbare in places.
With the battle for seventh place in the Premier League hotting up, the quartet’s imminent return will only boost their chances of possibly winning the race.
