Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have been huddled in the corner discussing what changes could occur this summer, as they expect a major shake-up to the squad at Goodison Park.
The Toffees risk losing star forward Romelu Lukaku this summer but the Belgian is unlikely to be the only attacker to leave Goodison Park, with Gerard Deulofeu likely to earn a permanent exit after spending the second-half of the season on-loan with AC Milan.
A host of top sides are keen on the winger, including Milan and Barcelona, and now his advisor has told Radio Marte (quotes sourced from TuttoMercatoWeb) that moving to Napoli is also a possibility for the Spaniard. However, Barcelona hold the trump card through a buy-back option they possess.
“Barcelona will give it some thought because they have the right to buy him back, but it will also be important what the lad wants,”
“[Napoli] could be an alternative if Mertens ends up on the market, but Deulofeu wants to be playing regularly and there would be a lot of competition for him there”
Earning regular football at Milan, Deulofeu could opt to remain at the San Siro and he’d have an outside chance of making Spain’s World Cup squad next summer.
Our landlord thinks that Deulofeu is a fantastic footballer and feels that Koeman needs to utilise him a lot more in the Premier League.
Where should Deulofeu move to this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
