Newcastle United have started to put together a good run of results as they look to pull away from the relegation zone.
The Toon Army have struggled for the majority of the season to get victories, however, they have since managed to get two on the bounce.
Rafa Benitez would have liked to have added more faces in the summer transfer window to help with their aims, however, he had to keep one man that was unhappy in his squad due to the lack of activity.
But, he now believes Isaac Hayden is happy to stay at Newcastle United – for the time being at least.
The midfielder had pushed for a move away from St. James’ Park in the summer but was not sold as the Magpies were not convinced that they would be able to bring in any suitable replacements in time.
“I was speaking to him and he is fine,” he told the Newcastle Chronicle when he was asked about whether the player was still looking to leave Tyneside.
“At the moment he wants to be here, I think so, but we will see in the future. It doesn’t matter, anyway, because he is here [until January at the very least] – and he has to keep going.”
Hayden has struggled to make an impact at Newcastle this season, however, that is likely due to the fact that his head was not believed to be in the right place.
The midfielder was sent off in their match against Cardiff City after coming on as a substitute and has since been able to feature very sporadically.
There is still a chance the 23-year-old could look to push a move away from the club in January, however, Benitez does not appear to be too concerned about it at the moment.
